There's two different lists. The first were games I got to see in action(group 1), the second are the ones I got to play (group 2). And of course, my impressions of them. :D Sorta like your personal E3 fairy. XD Unfortunately, though, the first list is abridged, because of confidentiality. Surprising to me that there must be that sort of thing in the game industry. I can understand you know weapons of mass destruction or even stupid stuff like how often the president takes a crap. But gah! games? Seriously? bah...
Group 1
Uncharted 3 - the E3 demo is a true representation of the seamlessness between action and cut-scene. I love this series, but I honestly think this one looks like it's about as good as the second. I think I can live with that.
Playstation Vita - I really, really, really wanted to get my hands on one, but it just didn't happen. We were shown some of the new titles for it. I love what they're doing with Little Big Planet and the Augmented Reality stuff. And I'm pretty sure I'll be buying this when I can. Not this year, though. Too many games, etc.
Twisted Metal - I guess it was cool for nostalgia? But I was seriously unimpressed with the gameplay on this. It looks clunky and gimmicky. So yeah...
Diablo 3 - beta will be coming soon, and I hope I get picked! I had my first real nerdgasm looking at the gameplay on this. I cannot wait!
Prototype 2 - Jury's still out. The story idea is annoying. The new main character doesn't hold any interest for me. And it feels like it's imbalanced. Like the main character is far to overpowered or something. I might give it a chance, given it's still got 6 months to come out or so.
Modern Warfare 3 - I haven't said it here, but I have said it to others before. I think this game is going to blow. I know you guys aren't big into this stuff. So I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir or something, but honestly, a game that needs to start advertising itself almost 6 months before it comes out. The media campaign over here is too much! There's commercials on every day, trailers before movies, and tie-ins in merchandising and food retails. And the game doesn't even come out till November. That to me makes it seem the company is pumping so much into marketing because they are not confident the game will sell on its own. Or at least have the staying power to sell through the stock once the newness of it wears off. So yeah. Watching the game play made me feel my worries were grounded in some level of fact.
Driver: San Fransisco - this was played right in front of me without the option to take the controller myself. That said to me that the game is probably buggy and the presenter knew where the bugs were. For a game that's been several years in development and is out next month, I think that's poor effort indeed. So not expecting a very good game here.
Skyrim - O.M.G.OMGOMGOMG!!! Super nerdgasms! It looks absolutely brilliant!!! Third person and first person modes available, which is great. But the best part was the dragon fights. They look absolutely brilliant! They've spent so much effort in getting these to look and feel epic, and they totally made it happen. I can't speak enough praises. OMG!
Rage - iD software has made a new IP that takes me back to their glory days. I think this looks like the best shooter of the year. I just wish I could have played it.
F1 2011: Racing game. Insert generic who cares here.
Lord of the Rings War of the North: totally solid looking title! I was about to play it when the power went out for a good twenty minutes, so I missed out. But it looks like your standard class-related action title. Might be worth a look.
XCOM: I want this title to be good, so I could be a bit biased. But it does look good! It's by the 2K Marine team that is out in Sydney. They did do Bioshock 2, so they are fairly good at stuff. And I think this looks pretty cool.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations - looks really good if you've played the other games. The gameplay versus cinematics looks quite a bit more fluid than the other games. Impressive, indeed.
Xenoblade - I think I was the only one who geeked out about it. There has been absolutely no advertising out here for it, so I'm still a bit surprised they're sending it here. The game looks absolutely beautiful. The battles are very fluid looking. I can't wait for it to be out.
Saints Row 3 - looks fun for about 5 minutes. I think it may be very enjoyable. But the whole tongue-in-cheek humour will only hold out for so long. Most everyone else there thought it was awesome, but I dunno.
