The topic basically says it all. What games do mass amounts of people love and gush over, that you just don't like.

The main one for me would have to be Star Fox 64. I know people simply worship this game. Even people who don't really enjoy flight games love this game, but me? Nope. I found it pretty boring actually. I mean it was a solid game for its time, but it didn't leave me with a "Wow" type of experience that many others got from playing it.

I'll try to think of some more but this is one that stands out to me. Also, I'd like to say that no one should be offended in this thread. Just personal tastes.

Kingdom Hearts series, Metal Gear Solid series, anything by Blizzard, new FF games, multiplayer-based Valve games, Dead or Alive series, God of War series, Gears of War series, etc.

Will edit with more as I remember them. I'm picky for a reason. :U

Rayman 2, let's just get that one out of the way now.

Final Fantasy series.

Mega Man games (Legends subseries excluded)

Sonic games (Adventure 2 excluded)

Halo series.

I've only experienced it second-hand: Oblivion.

A whole genre: Western RPGs.

Another: Tower defense.

A few years ago I would have had Tetris in here, but I warmed up to it.

Final Fantasy series? I thought you liked what you played of FFVI.

And I can do nothing but shake my head at your Western RPG addition since you literally haven't tried a single one apparently. :U

I did, but I don't love the series.

And you know I tried Dragon Age.

:/

And I wouldn't consider Dragon Age a representation of the entire genre.

Yeah, the Halo series isn't great at all to me.

And Jeeves, this is about games, not whole genres. I usually can't stand FPS but I do have exceptions because I've played many different types. Just because you played Dragon Age and a few others doesn't mean you should past judgement on all. So lets just stick to the games here folks, not the genres.

Oh and the Gran Turismo games have never ever caught my attention. I played one with the purchase of my PS2 and played it pretty heavily since it was the only game I had for a week at the time... but it sucked to me. Meanwhile everyone else thought it was the second coming for racing games. Pssh, give me my Mario Kart please.

Mass Effect; While I haven't gotten a chance to play more than about halfway through I've had no incentive to go back and I find little about the game has stuck with me in any sense. I don't hate it, I just can't play it without falling asleep

World of Warcraft; Played a free demo and I was bored to tears within the hour, never understood how people can play for days on end.

I know this is sort of a forum fav, but Borderlands; I finally borrowed this game and I've not been impressed. I guess there is always room to try to sequel but...

If you don't like the first, you probably won't like the sequel. It's turning out to be the same, only better. As in all the same Borderlands aspects, just improved upon.

For me, the game is all about the people you're playing with.

WoW is another game that can go in my list.

Resurrecting this thread! Because I have some awesome input!

I'm with you on StarFox, JRRD. No idea why that is so popular. Others would include: Final Fantasy XI (sorry, tried it, didn't like it), Halo, Call of Duty (minus Black Ops. It had a solid single player game), and Dynasty Warriors (can -anyone- explain what the big deal is there?).
