So yeah, this recent batch of consoles that we have been playing for well over 4 or 5 years is slowing down, and talk of newer consoles is on the horizon. So I ask you this good folks of GS, which one of the big 3 consoles was your overall favorite to play with. I don't want to get too technical and people bringing up which console sold more and blah blah blah, but in your own opinion, which console did you enjoy the most and the one you felt was simply the best for you. So what will it be? The Wii, PS3 or X Box 360?! The choice is yours! And as always try to explain why.

And hey, this game me a reason to make a poll! We haven't made a poll in such a long time. It needed to be done. Hope you enjoy the poll.

Well to be fair, your thread should say "current gen". But anyway.

They are all pretty close for me. But there is a winner for me and most of the reasons have little to do with games.

- Backwards compatibility
- No more storage issues
- No long nearly weekly updates
- Allows use of my favorite controller
- Doesn't take up a lot of space
- Controller works wonders with some of my favorite games
- No bullshit player score (It's distracting for perfectionists ): )
- Good quality hardware

Wii it is for me! As far as games go, I can't choose a winner because they're all good.

Before I give my answer, let me just say that I love all three of these consoles pretty equally and never been one to buy into the whole console war bullshit. Anyway, I could be a douche and tie it between the Wii and Xbox 360 but there is one thing that separates the two. What could that be? The correct answer is: construction integrity. Holy shit, I put my first Wii through so much abuse and exhaustion that I thought it would burn out after a year. But you know what? That white box just kept shining on like it was still brand new (until it got stolen but that's another story). Now, the Xbox 360 was a completely different story. The mother board fried on me thrice from overheating, despite being in a ventilated area. There was also that other the time the DVD drive completely died on me and I had to replace it with a spare from one of the other broken 360s. Additionally, the power brick burnt out twice as well. M$ is lucky most of my good friends only own a Xbox 360 or else I would have bought another PS3 instead of these damn paperweights.

So tl;dr version, the Nintendo Wii is my pick for best current gen console.

Very hard to make a choice here. I couldn't even decide when I was making this topic. I mean technically by my personal experience with each console... none of them have failed me. I mean it is very annoying to have to always have console updates and downloads for the console itself and the games, so the Wii has the PS3 and 360 beat in that regard. I really enjoy the Wii's interface and it isn't bogged down with countless Ads from different companies. REALLY annoying with the 360. Feels like I am watching a TV sometimes with all the ads they put in the console. Oh and I don't have to pay for online play on the PS3 and the Wii. But on the plush side for the 360, I think I've enjoyed there games a bit more than the others. But only a bit, and I can say that the Wii games have been more innovated than the rest.

Man it is hard to choose, but when I weight all the pros and cons in my head for each system... I think I have to go with the Wii. Although I will say if I had a PS3 that held more memory I would probably be playing that one a bit more, and the fact that it has Little Big Planet... man... Screw it, I am still going with the Wii even though it has been a bit dead lately. Overall I have enjoyed it more. Go Wii!

I've had the most fun with the 360 this generation. A few years ago I would never guess that's what I'd be saying now, but...hey. Good games and good friends. That's all I've got to say.
