Hmm... how do we not have a topic for this? Well here is one now! Share your hype for the newest edition of the Legend of Zelda franchise with us. I am actually looking forward to this one! Most times I am not as excited for new Zeldas. Sorry, I can't lie but this one seems awesome in all the screen and trailers I've seen so far. I think I will have to play it right when it arrives here, sorry Heather. So yeah, share your thoughts and hype and news if you know any!
I'm mostly avoiding information on this before I play it. I'm excited though! I like everything I know about it, and I see some real potential in the story. I already like Ghirahim much more than Ganondorf, so here's hoping that he lives up to my expectations! And the game looks gorgeous, of course.
I'm getting the bundle, so now I'll have two Wii Remotes...took me long enough. It'll be my first Motion+ experience outside of Wii Sports Resort demos.
I'm super excited! I won't be able to get it this year, though, so I'm trying to control me excitement. The game played very well at conference, and looks beautiful! I'm slightly sad at the fact that there is still no plans for a HD version, but hopefully the WiiU will have upscaling or something

I finally finished this delicious feast of a game yesterday, my game clock coming to about 100 hours. It was a great experience from beginning to end. My spoiler-free impressions:
I loved the controls, especially for swordplay, and Motion+ pointing as opposed to sensor bar pointing. I'm happy to hear that Nintendo wants to keep having these kinds of controls for Zelda.
A lot of the challenges were very...organically implemented into the world, relative to past games, which is something I've been asking for out of a Zelda game for a long time. Nintendo listened and I really appreciate it. The puzzles are awesome, by the way. It's almost hard to believe that they're still coming up with new ideas for them.
The game oozes personality, as any Zelda game should, and though stylistically it often reminds me of Wind Waker (which makes me happy), it definitely has its own identity. Playing the game, it feels like a refreshing take on the series.
Some smaller things that have been a problem in the past are resolved: Though your inventory of tools and weapons is smaller, better use is made of them and none of them end up feeling neglected. Also, no longer will you have way too many rupees and nothing to spend them on, which was a source of annoyance in WW and TP.
Item upgrades were pretty neat. Actually, I liked the bazaar in general.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ghirahim and was left wanting more. Every moment of screen time he has is a delight. I love the whole "flamboyantly evil" thing, and the way it's executed in this character is pitch-perfect. In retrospect he reminds me of Super Paper Mario's Dimentio, but creepier. His dialogue was amazing, his personality shines through in his animations down to the smallest details, his voice is spot-on, his battle theme is a great fit, and I liked his fighting style. Bravo.
I do have some complaints. Chiefly:
They could have done more with the sky and day/night cycles.
In general, I did not care for the enemy design. Wind Waker walked a fine line and managed to not make enemies look too goofy for their own good in my opinion, whereas here...yeah, they're too goofy. One of the bosses looked like it was taken straight out of Super Mario Galaxy.
I have some other thoughts which I'll put in spoiler tags; read after you finish the game.
Spoiler
Incomplete Demise, AKA "The Imprisoned", was the worst thing about the game to me. THREE boss fights that are both uninteresting and frustrating. For some reason they designed it so that when he has arms, you have no room to run past him after you knock him down, so you've got to take the long way around. And trying to cut up his juicy toe nails while he's stomping around is ridiculous. His design is awful, too. My Mario Galaxy comment earlier was in reference to Tentalus the sea monster, but this guy fits the bill too. The first time I encountered him, I thought "Oh cool, time to see this evil wind fish or whatever it is....wait, this thing's a sand worm, isn't it! Even though we're not in a desert...anyway, here it comes.......wait, what the hell?" The second and third fights were met by me with a loud groan, and "Oh, come on!" respectively.
They did throw in a flying whale, but...not really what I was hoping for.
No sand worm. : (
I'll take redeads over those zombified bokoblins.
The harp turned out to be pretty lame. It was only fun at the Lumpy Pumpkin.
I understand what they were going for with Fi, but still...a hint of character development outside of the little bit at the end would've been nice. I like stories about robots/whatever gaining humanity.
Speaking of which, I liked Scrapper!
The good outweighs the bad by a lot. A fitting beginning to the legend.
